What is Temperature?

Temperature is basically presence of thermal energy. More the thermal energy more heat will be inside, on other hand less thermal energy will have no heat or cooler it is. The question is how to measure the presence of heat in the body? The answer is simple and that is through Thermometer.

In earlier days many scientist did research to measure the heat or thermal energy in the body on some scale to quantify it. Main scales which were developed are Celsius or centigrade and other one is Fahrenheit.

The Celsius scale is commonly used in world to measure the temperature. According to this scale, the water starts freezing when the temperature fall below 4°C and reaches at 0°C. At 100 °C the water starts boiling. Similarly, according to Fahrenheit scale the water freezes at 32 °F and boils at 212 °F. Fahrenheit scale is mostly used in American continent.

Thermometer is an instrument which measures temperature i.e degree of heat. The Thermometer records temperature of body, object or any surface. Thermometer are commonly used everywhere at homes, hospitals, industries and many other places. Their use at homes has increased in many forms.

Simple Thermometers:
These measure temperature of body through orally and used by babies, children and adults. In today’s life, digital thermometers have taken over traditional mercury filled glass tube thermometers. Thermometers normally have silver nib at one end. These types of thermometers are only used to record temperature of human body instead any other object like infrared digital thermometers. Thermometers with nib allow to measure temperature orally or armpit. It contains bulb containing mercury which expands and contracts based on the temperature of body. LCD is provided to read temperature easily. The accuracy of instruments varies with the manufacture and is generally 0.1 to 0.3 degree Fahrenheit.

What is Temperature?

The digital thermometers are equipped with many features such as temperature readings in Fahrenheit and Celsius, memory to store more than 30 readings for follow-up, fever alarm, color display, Indicate temperature with sound, one button easy operation and auto power off function to prolong battery life

Forehead/Ear Thermometers:
The temperature of human is also measured through its forehead or ear. It can be easily obtained through infrared digital thermometers. Forehead/Ear thermometers normally come as non-contact digital thermometers. These thermometers used infrared technology. The probe of these thermometers is equipped with sensor. When directed towards forehead/ear, the temperature of human is recorded. There is significant space about 3 to 5 cm must be maintained to obtain accurate temperature reading in case of forehead reading. The accuracy of instruments varies with the manufacture and is generally between 0.1 to 0.3 degree Fahrenheit.

What is Temperature?

The digital thermometers are equipped with many features such as record temperature through Ear, forehead, Armpit and Oral, memory function which record temperature of more than 30 readings, beep function to show status of instrument, mute function to silent the process while recording temperature for babies while sleeping, color display for easy reading, fever Alarm on high temperature, temperature indications through different colored display for normal and cautious temperature and record temperature of any object such as room, liquid and any surface

Theromostat:
A thermostat is a device which senses the temperature and regulates it based on the pre set requirements. Thermostats are commonly used in heating and cooling instruments to achieve desired degree. Thermostats are used in homes with built in functions of air conditioners, Oven, Water heaters, Refrigerators. On other hand they are commercially used in Cold storages, Offices and factories and many other places.

Most of common features of thermostats are voice controlled, touch screen with colored display, programmable, wifi enabled, can be used with app like IOS and Android, used with Alexa, change Screen color, energy saving modes and password protected.

Hygrometer:
Hygrometer is a device used to measure water content in any atmosphere. The water content in any atmosphere depends primarily on temperature and pressure.  The temperature is directly involved in amount of water content in such a way that higher the temperature higher water content will be present in atmosphere. The same goes in other way as well.

Digital Hygrometers are commonly used in our daily lives either at our homes or at workplaces. Hygrometers are equipped with many features which show temperature and humidity of room or place as both are interconnected with each other. The main features of hygrometers are used as humidity meter, inform air conditions status i.e temperature of room or place, capable of storing readings up to 2 years, wifi enabled, iOS & Android compatible, measure pressure, show time, weather forecasting and measuring humidity of individual places within specified perimeter.

In current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, different public health agencies and governments are recommending to stay at home to stay safe. A must have in Lockdown 2020. Where people are keeping social distance and living in isolation. Its importance has significantly increased the demand all over the world.
